National Contest for AI-Enhanced Industry 5.0 Green Entrepreneurship in Romania

We are proud to announce the launch of the National Contest for AI-Enhanced Industry 5.0 Green Entrepreneurship — a pioneering initiative designed to harness the transformative power of artificial intelligence in service of sustainable development and human-centred industry. This initiative is supported by the BOOST-AI project financed by the Erasmus+ programme (project no. 2024-1-RO01-KA220-HED-000246238). This contest invites students, to propose innovative AI-supported concepts, prototypes, or business solutions that address real-world green entrepreneurship challenges within the Industry 5.0 framework.  Industry 5.0 goes beyond efficiency and productivity — it places the wellbeing of people and the planet at the centre of the production process. By combining the precision of AI with the creativity of human ingenuity, participants will be challenged to reimagine how businesses can grow sustainably, reduce their environmental footprint, and create lasting positive impact.

Contest Objectives

  •  Stimulate innovation in AI-supported green business models and sustainable technologies
  •  Foster meaningful collaboration between students, researchers, and the business sector
  •  Support the development of practical, scalable solutions to environmental challenges
  •  Align entrepreneurial activity with the European Green Deal and Industry 5.0 principles
  •  Build an ecosystem of knowledge exchange between academia and SMEs
  •  Recognise and reward outstanding talent in sustainable innovation

Who Can Participate?

The contest is mainly open to students enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate, or doctoral programmes at accredited higher education institutions from Romania. Participants may be of any nationality, provided their academic or business activities are conducted within the national territory or in collaboration with national entities.  However, teams formed by a student and a SME representative (employees or founders of small or medium-sized enterprises operating in any sector) are also strongly encouraged to participate in the contest.
